Comment Policy
Comments are not only welcome, they are encouraged!
To thwart spammers, comments are modified. This means that when you post a comment on this site, it will not appear until one of the site administrators approves the comment. Your comment however will never be edited but will be published as is. (We do however reserve the right not to publish a comment that is potentially defamatory; promotes violence, discrimination, or hate crimes; or contains threatening language or words you wouldn’t want your mother to hear you use in public.)
During week days we will make every effort to ensure that your comment will appear within 24 hours of the time you submitted it. Expect a slightly longer delay on weekends or holidays (after all, this is an all-volunteer project).
In the best spirit of ADR and collaborative practices, and to nurture an energetic, fully engaged, and productive online discussion of the issues before us, we encourage all those who share their viewpoints on this site to:
- communicate online with respect
- listen carefully to others in order to understand their perspectives
- take responsibility for their words and actions
- keep criticism constructive
- respect diversity and be tolerant of differences
We embrace full and open communication and recognize the unique opportunity for expression in the online environment. We support freedom of speech and reject censorship. These principles are not intended to address what ideas can be expressed, but rather the tone with which communications take place.
Inspired by the Statement on Respectful Online Communication, April 20, 2007, developed at the 5th International Forum on Online Dispute Resolution in Liverpool, England.
